# Wayfor AI Agent

The Wayfor AI Agent is a conversational assistant for administrators. Ask it questions about your platform in plain English — analytics, leaderboards, user lookups, course completion — and let it draft new courses for you. The Agent uses Wayfor's own data (your courses, users, enrollments, optionally your Knowledge Base) to give grounded answers, not generic AI replies.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Who is this for?** Administrators only. The Agent is not visible to learners, instructors, or managers.
{% endhint %}

## Opening the Agent

The Agent is always one step away. Whatever you are doing in the platform, you can open it without losing your place — close it and you are back exactly where you started.

### From anywhere

* Click the **Ask AI…** button at the top of the left sidebar.
* Press **⌘K** (macOS) or **Ctrl+K** (Windows).

![Admin home dashboard with the left sidebar showing an "Ask AI…" search-style button (with ⌘ K keyboard shortcut chip) directly under the Wayfor logo, above the Home / Learning / User Center / Analytics / Wayfor AI / System Settings nav items](https://1540991871-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F1lKGIWJWcNwQu3kxzBSH%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-d522bd2edca7e27b56075bbf402f7cc8f75b7a5d%2Fwayfor-ai-agent-sidebar-button.png?alt=media)

### From the Wayfor AI submenu

Click **Wayfor AI** in the sidebar navigation to expand its submenu, then:

* **+ New Chat** to start a fresh conversation
* A conversation under **RECENT** to reopen it
* **View All Conversations** to see the full list of past chats

## The welcome screen

When you open the Agent without an active conversation, you see a greeting and six suggested prompts:

![Agent welcome screen with the greeting "Hey George / How can I help you today?", a 3x2 grid of suggested prompt cards (Compliance, Courses, Reporting, Create, Top 10, Get Started), a "What do you need help with?" input at the bottom, and the disclaimer "Wayfor AI can make mistakes. Please double-check important information."](https://1540991871-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F1lKGIWJWcNwQu3kxzBSH%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-b556f8544c6dea5fc007ed3e60bc2849cc8200c8%2Fwayfor-ai-agent-modal.png?alt=media)

| Card            | Tries                             |
| --------------- | --------------------------------- |
| **Compliance** | "Which departments have issues?" |
| **Courses** | "Show me total count" |
| **Reporting** | "Get reports in natural language" |
| **Create**      | "How to build a course"           |
| **Top 10**      | "Best performers this quarter"    |
| **Get Started** | "Learn the basics" |

Click any card to send the prompt straight to the Agent. Or write your own prompt in the input at the bottom — the cards are just suggestions, not the limit of what you can ask.

## What the Agent can do

The Agent's capabilities fall into a few broad areas:

* **Ask about your data** — analytics, leaderboards, lists of courses or users, completion rates, drill-downs by department or course. The Agent answers with rich tables and charts you can sort, search and export. → [Ask the Agent about your data](/ai-in-wayfor/ai-in-wayfor/wayfor-ai-agent/ask-about-your-data.md)
* **Generate a course from a prompt** — give the Agent a topic and it drafts a full course outline, lets you review and approve it, generates cover and lesson images in your chosen style, then creates the course. → [Generate a course with the Agent](/ai-in-wayfor/ai-in-wayfor/wayfor-ai-agent/generate-a-course.md)
* **Use your Knowledge Base** — when your organisation has a Knowledge Base set up, the Agent grounds its answers in your uploaded documents and shows you the sources. *(Coming soon)*

For managing your conversations — saving, returning to, deleting, or stopping mid-stream — see [Manage your Wayfor AI conversations](/ai-in-wayfor/ai-in-wayfor/wayfor-ai-agent/manage-conversations.md).

## A note on accuracy

The Agent works hard to be accurate, but it is still an AI. Always verify before acting on its answers — especially for compliance reporting, regulatory data, or anything that informs a decision with consequences.

The disclaimer at the bottom of the input field says this too: *"Wayfor AI can make mistakes. Please double-check important information."*

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.nadifor.ai/ai-in-wayfor/ai-in-wayfor/wayfor-ai-agent.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
